Alexei Ratmansky is a renowned Russian choreographer and former ballet dancer. He was born on August 27, 1968, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Ratmansky had a distinguished dancing career, performing with several prestigious companies including the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, and Ukrainian National Ballet. However, he is best known for his work as a choreographer. He served as the artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet from 2004 to 2008 and has been the artist in residence at the American Ballet Theatre since 2009.
