She studied at Howard University and pursued further education at Columbia University. Thomas's early career was marked by her work as an art teacher, but she later gained recognition for her colorful, mosaic-like paintings that often drew inspiration from nature. Notable works include "Resurrection" and "Sky Light." Her art is characterized by its bold use of color and rhythmic patterns.
