Carmen Herrera
Carmen Herrera, born in Havana, Cuba in 1915, was a Cuban-American abstract painter known for her geometric, hard-edge works. She studied at the University of Havana and the Art Students League of New York. Herrera's early career was overlooked, but she gained recognition later in life for her minimalist approach and precise use of color and form. Notable works include "Blanco y Verde" and "Equilibrio." Her paintings, characterized by their simplicity and structural clarity, are featured in major collections such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
