Derrick Adams
Derrick Adams, born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1970, is a contemporary American artist whose multifaceted work spans painting, collage, sculpture and performance. Adams' early career was influenced by his studies at the Pratt Institute and Columbia University, where he earned his MFA. His art often explores themes of African American identity, culture, and the representation of Black bodies in visual media. Adams is best known for his vibrant, mixed-media portraits and installations that celebrate Black life and culture.
