Don Gummer

Don Gummer, born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1946, is an acclaimed American sculptor known for his large-scale abstract works. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Yale School of Art. Gummer's early career focused on tabletop and wall-mounted sculptures, but he later expanded to outdoor installations. His work is characterized by its geometric forms and use of materials like stainless steel, bronze, and glass. Notable works include "Primary Compass" and "Southern Circle." Gummer's sculptures are featured in collections such as the Butler Institute of American Art and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. He continues to contribute significantly to contemporary sculpture.
