Elton John
Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in 1947, is a British singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. One of the best-selling music artists of all time, John has sold over 300 million records worldwide. His hits include "Your Song," "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer" and "Candle in the Wind 1997," the latter being the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. John has won five Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Tony Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998. John is also known for his activism, particularly in HIV/AIDS charity work.
