Fernando Ferrer
Fernando Ferrer is an American politician who served as the Bronx Borough President from 1987 to 2001. Born on February 2, 1950, in the Bronx, New York, Ferrer is a member of the Democratic Party. During his time as Borough President, he was known for his efforts to address issues such as affordable housing, economic development, and public safety in the Bronx. Ferrer also ran for mayor of New York City in 2001, where he narrowly lost to incumbent Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In addition to his political career, Ferrer has been involved in various community and civic organizations and has continued to be an influential figure in New York City politics.
