George Pataki
George Pataki, born on June 24, 1945, in Peekskill, New York, is an American politician and attorney who served as the 53rd Governor of New York from 1995 to 2006. A member of the Republican Party, Pataki is known for his moderate political stance and his focus on environmental issues, economic development, and health care reform during his tenure. Before becoming governor, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1985 to 1992 and the New York State Senate from 1993 to 1994. Pataki gained national recognition for his leadership in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. After leaving office, he has remained active in public policy and political commentary.
