Gloria Steinem
Gloria Steinem, born in 1934, is an American feminist, journalist and social political activist. Steinem became nationally recognized as a leader and a spokeswoman for the American feminist movement in the late 1960s and early 1970s. She co-founded "Ms. Magazine" in 1972, a landmark publication in the feminist movement. Steinem's work has focused on issues of equality, including gender discrimination, reproductive freedom and civil rights. Her activism, writing and speaking have made her an iconic figure in the struggle for women's rights in the United States and around the world.
