Under his leadership, the company expanded from a small Seattle-based coffee chain to a global powerhouse. In addition to writing four books about business, Schultz founded the Schultz Family Foundation to help military veterans and was owner of the Seattle SuperSonics basketball team from 2001 to 2006.
