Jacolby Satterwhite
Jacolby Satterwhite, born in 1986 in Columbia, South Carolina, is a contemporary American artist known for his immersive multimedia installations, 3D animations, and performance art. He studied painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art and received his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. Satterwhite's work often explores themes of identity, memory and queerness, incorporating elements of his own family history and personal experiences. Notable works include "Reifying Desire," a series of 3D animated videos, and "Blessed Avenue," a project that combines video, sculpture, and music. His art is characterized by its vibrant digital aesthetics and complex narrative structures.
