John Liu is an American politician and professor who has served as a New York State Senator representing the 11th District in northeast Queens since 2019. Liu previously served as the New York City Comptroller from 2010 to 2013 and as a member of the New York City Council from 2002 to 2009. Known for his advocacy on issues such as education, labor rights, and financial transparency, Liu has been a prominent figure in New York politics.
