Kirsten Gillibrand
Kirsten Gillibrand is an American politician serving as the U.S. Senator from New York since 2009. Born on December 9, 1966, she is a member of the Democratic Party. Before her Senate career, she served as a U.S. Representative for New York's 20th congressional district. Known for her advocacy on issues like sexual assault in the military, health care, and paid family leave, Gillibrand has been a prominent voice on progressive causes. She ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in the 2020 election but withdrew from the race in August 2019.
