Larry Silverstein
Larry Silverstein is an American real estate developer and investor best known for his involvement in the redevelopment of the World Trade Center complex in New York City. Born on May 30, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, Silverstein has been a prominent figure in the New York City real estate scene for decades. Silverstein gained significant attention after acquiring the lease for the World Trade Center's Twin Towers in July 2001, just weeks before the September 11 terrorist attacks. He oversaw the design, construction, and leasing of One World Trade Center (also known as the Freedom Tower), the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, as well as other buildings within the new World Trade Center complex. Silverstein's career spans numerous other real estate developments in New York City and beyond, making him a key figure in urban development and commercial real estate.
