Louise Bourgeois
Louise Bourgeois (1911–2010), born in Paris, France, was a French-American artist best known for her large-scale sculpture and installation art, as well as for her intense and introspective prints and drawings. Her work often explores themes of loneliness, jealousy, anger, and fear, drawing heavily on her childhood experiences and her relationships. Bourgeois is perhaps best recognized for her "Cells" installations and large spider structures, notably "Maman," which represent themes of maternal protection and nature. Her deeply personal approach and use of diverse materials have significantly influenced feminist and contemporary art.
