Maria Lassnig

She gained significant recognition later in life, with major retrospectives and exhibitions in prominent institutions worldwide, including MoMA PS1 in New York and the Albertina in Vienna. Lassnig's innovative approach and profound exploration of the human condition have cemented her legacy as a key figure in contemporary art. She passed away on May 6, 2014, in Vienna, Austria.
