Mark Green
Mark Green, born on March 15, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, is an American politician, public interest lawyer, and author. He is best known for serving as New York City's first Public Advocate from 1994 to 2001. Green has a long history of involvement in consumer advocacy and progressive politics. He was a frequent candidate for public office, including runs for the U.S. Senate, New York State Attorney General, and Mayor of New York City. As Public Advocate, Green focused on issues such as consumer protection, government accountability, and healthcare. He is also known for his work with Ralph Nader in the 1970s and for his authorship of several books on politics and public policy.
