Martin Kippenberger
Martin Kippenberger, born in Dortmund, Germany in 1953, was an influential German artist known for his eclectic and often provocative body of work. He studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. Kippenberger's early career was characterized by his involvement in the punk rock scene and his prolific output across various mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation and performance. Notable works include "The Happy End of Franz Kafka’s ‘Amerika’" and "Paris Bar." His work often challenged the conventions of the art world and was marked by its irreverence and humor.
