Mick Rock
Mick Rock, born Michael David Rock on November 21, 1948, in Hammersmith, London, was a legendary British photographer known as "The Man Who Shot the Seventies." He is famous for his iconic images of rock and roll musicians. Rock studied at Cambridge University before launching his career as a photographer. He captured some of the most enduring images of artists such as David Bowie, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and Queen. Notable works include the album covers for Bowie's "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars," Reed's "Transformer," and Queen's "Queen II." Rock's photographs are celebrated for their raw energy and intimate portrayal of his subjects. He passed away on November 18, 2021, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of music photography.
