Mike Kelley
Mike Kelley, born in Wayne, Michigan in 1954, was an influential American artist known for his diverse and provocative body of work. He studied at the California Institute of the Arts, where he was influenced by the punk rock scene and the Dada movement. Kelley's early career involved performance art, but he later expanded into installations, sculptures, drawings and videos. His work often explored themes of memory, trauma and societal norms using found objects and kitsch materials. Notable works include "Educational Complex" and "Day is Done." Kelley's art is held in major collections such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He passed away in 2012, leaving a lasting impact on contemporary art.
