Nick Cave is an American artist known for his multidisciplinary work, including performance art, sculpture, and installations. Born in 1959 in Fulton, Missouri, he gained widespread recognition for his "Soundsuits," wearable sculptures made from a variety of materials such as fabric, buttons, beads, and twigs. These suits create sound when worn and moved, blurring the lines between dance, fashion, and art. Cave's work often addresses themes of race, identity, and social justice. He is also a professor and chair of the Fashion, Body and Garment program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
