In 1978, he moved to the United States and established Rafael Viñoly Architects in New York City. Viñoly's portfolio includes a wide range of projects, from cultural institutions and academic buildings to residential and commercial skyscrapers. Notable works include the Tokyo International Forum in Japan, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, and the iconic 432 Park Avenue residential tower in New York City. His designs are characterized by their bold use of space, light, and innovative engineering solutions. Viñoly's contributions to architecture have been recognized with numerous awards and honors, reflecting his impact on the field. The Wilson Family Donates $1 Million to the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University
Yesterday brought the welcome news that Dallas collector Derek Wilson, alongside his wife, Christen, would donate $1 million to the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. It's part of a $3 million gift that Mr. Wilson, a Duke graduate, is giving to the university with his father, ex-Northwest Airlines chairman Gary T. Wilson, also a Duke graduate. The rest of the donation will go to building athletics facilities.
