Robert Mueller
Robert Mueller is an American lawyer and former federal prosecutor who served as the 6th Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 2001 to 2013. Born on August 7, 1944, in New York City, Mueller is known for his extensive career in law enforcement and legal matters. During his tenure at the FBI, he oversaw major investigations including those related to counterterrorism and cybersecurity. After leaving the FBI, Mueller was appointed as the Special Counsel for the Department of Justice in May 2017 to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russia. His investigation, known as the Mueller Report, concluded in March 2019, with the report documenting extensive Russian interference but insufficient evidence to establish that the Trump campaign engaged in a criminal conspiracy with Russia.
