Rosario Candela
Rosario Candela, born on March 7, 1890, in Montelepre, Sicily, was a prolific architect who significantly shaped the landscape of New York City in the early 20th century. He immigrated to the United States and graduated from Columbia University's School of Architecture. Candela is renowned for his elegant residential buildings, particularly on the Upper East Side and in Midtown Manhattan, characterized by their classical proportions and luxurious amenities. Notable works include 740 Park Avenue and 960 Fifth Avenue. Candela's contributions to architecture have left a lasting legacy in the form of some of New York's most prestigious addresses. He passed away on October 3, 1953.
