Sanford Biggers
Sanford Biggers, born in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, is a contemporary artist whose work combines sculpture, installation and performance to explore themes of history, culture and identity. His art often addresses the African American experience and incorporates elements of hip-hop, Buddhism and African traditions. Biggers' works are part of collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
