Scott Murphy
Scott Murphy is an American businessman and politician who served as the U.S. Representative for New York's 20th congressional district from 2009 to 2011. Born on January 26, 1970, he is a member of the Democratic Party. Murphy won a special election in 2009 to fill the seat vacated by Kirsten Gillibrand, who was appointed to the U.S. Senate. Prior to his congressional tenure, Murphy had a successful career in venture capital and business, including roles in several start-up companies.
