William Copley
William Copley (1919–1996) was an American artist, gallerist and publisher known for his surreal and whimsical paintings. Often associated with the Surrealist and Pop Art movements, Copley's work features bold colors, cartoonish figures, and a playful yet provocative exploration of themes such as sexuality, politics and human relationships. He was also known for his involvement with the European Surrealists, having opened the Copley Galleries in Beverly Hills, which showcased artists like Max Ernst and May Ray.
