President at Hulu
After taking full control of streaming service Hulu, the Walt Disney Company introduced multiple hierarchical shakeups in order to find the right combination of executives to lead the new endeavor. In February, that resulted in Hulu marketing chief Kelly Campbell being named president.
In her new role, she oversees all of Hulu’s streaming business and works closely with Disney executives to better align the company with Disney’s overarching direct-to-consumer business. This includes incorporating FX on Hulu earlier this year as a foundational brand for the streamer moving forward and expanding the streamer’s original programming division. Hulu has grown to 36.6 million subscribers this year on the strength of originals such as Normal People, Shrill, Pen15, Ramy and Palm Springs—one of the most-watched SVOD movies of 2020.
Looking ahead, Campbell will work with Disney to begin funneling exclusive original features from Searchlight onto the Hulu platform, giving the streamer a consistent hand in film development for the first time.
