Under Imperato, BCW—once two firms, Burson and Cohn & Wolfe—has fashioned itself into a think tank and management consultancy as much as a communications firm. In 2020, that became critical as the firm took on weighty assignments like advising New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration on post-COVID reopenings. Donna Imperato also spearheaded the launch of BCW’s Polycultural Consulting Unit, which will offer communication strategies around diversity and identity, including strategic counsel on racial injustice and Black Lives Matter issues.” Imperato also oversees a powerhouse portfolio of affiliate agencies, including GCI Health, a booming healthcare communications firm that handles issue-oriented and reputational campaigns.
