Though Facebook’s constantly making headlines, it’s not always for the right reasons, as December has proven. But the company’s got a new secret weapon—Marc Johnson. Until this summer, he was the managing director of APCO Worldwide in New York. Over a dozen years, Johnson quietly helped transform APCO into a digital-first powerhouse; now, at Facebook, he’ll “manage and direct strategy for six major components of the Facebook Communications team: internal communications, data communications, financial communications, corporate media, creative services, and the writer’s group—our messaging and external thought leadership team,” he told Observer. We’ll be watching to see how Facebook’s tone evolves under Johnson’s baton.
