When Arielle Rothstein arrived at Joele Frank in 2013, she was a 22-year-old account executive fresh out of college. In only five years, she’d become the firm’s youngest managing director to oversee multibillion-dollar mergers, shareholder activism campaigns and C-suite shakeups.

“We help our clients ‘take control,’” said Joele Frank’s president, Matthew Sherman. And Rothstein’s “exceptional judgment and calm-under-fire attitude” achieve just that. In 2020, she advised clients on some of the most high-profile corporate events of the year, including COVID-19 drug Remdesivir maker Gilead Sciences’ $21 billion acquisition of Immunomedics and the appointment of McDonald’s new CEO.

In her earlier years as managing director, Rothstein was also involved in Broadcom’s historic $130 billion proposed hostile takeover of Qualcomm (20172018) and subsequent M&A transactions.
