American Folk Art Museum
The American Folk Art Museum, located in New York City, was founded in 1961 to celebrate and preserve traditional folk art and contemporary self-taught artists. The museum’s collection includes paintings, sculptures, textiles, and decorative arts, showcasing works by notable artists such as Edward Hicks, Bill Traylor and Grandma Moses. The museum’s exhibitions, educational programs, public events and an annual benefit gala—which attracts key figures from the art world—aim to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of folk art.
