Apollo Theater

Apollo Theater, located at 253 West 125th Street, New York City, opened in 1914. It is a historic venue known for its significant role in the development of African American culture and music. The theater gained fame with its “Amateur Night” shows, which launched the careers of many iconic artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown and Michael Jackson. The Apollo continues to be a cultural landmark, hosting a variety of performances that celebrate the rich legacy of Harlem. It remains a symbol of artistic innovation and community spirit.
