Harry Potter

Harry Potter is the fictional protagonist of J.K. Rowling’s immensely popular book series, which began with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (released as Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone outside the U.S.) in 1997. An orphaned boy who discovers on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard, Potter attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he learns of his fame as the “Boy Who Lived” and his destiny to confront the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. The series, spanning seven books, explores themes of friendship, bravery, and the struggle between good and evil. Potter’s story has had a profound impact on modern literature and popular culture, leading to a successful film franchise and a vast array of related merchandise.
