Hessel Museum of Art
The Hessel Museum of Art, part of Bard College’s Center for Curatorial Studies (CCS), was established in 2006. Located in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, it was founded by Marieluise Hessel, an art collector who donated her extensive collection of contemporary art. The museum features works by prominent artists such as Cindy Sherman, Barbara Kruger and Sol LeWitt. It serves as an educational resource, offering dynamic exhibitions, curatorial programs, and public events, making it a vital institution for contemporary art and curatorial studies.
