Moderna Museet
Moderna Museet, located in Stockholm, Sweden, was established in 1958 and is one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary art in Europe. The museum’s collection includes over 140,000 works, featuring prominent artists such as Pablo Picasso, MuseumsSalvador Dalí, Andy Warhol and Niki de Saint Phalle. The museum is housed in a building designed by the Spanish architect MuseumsRafael Moneo, which opened in 1998 on Skeppsholmen island. Moderna Museet also has a branch in Malmö, which opened in 2009. Specific programs include “Art in Our Time,” a series of exhibitions focusing on current global art trends, and the “International Performance Art Festival,” which showcases live performances by contemporary artists.
