Norton Simon Museum

The Norton Simon Museum, located at 411 W Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, CA, was established in 1969. It features an extensive collection of European art from the Renaissance to the 20th century, including masterpieces by artists such as Rembrandt, Degas and Picasso. The museum also houses a significant collection of South and Southeast Asian art, spanning over 2,000 years, with notable pieces like the bronze sculptures from the Chola dynasty. The building, designed by architect Thornton Ladd, includes a sculpture garden with works by Auguste Rodin and Henry Moore. The museum hosts exhibitions such as “By Day & by Night: Paris in the Belle Époque” and offers educational programs, film screenings, and lectures, enhancing public engagement with its diverse collection.
