Parrish Art Museum
The Parrish Art Museum, located in Water Mill, New York, was founded in 1897 by Samuel Longstreth Parrish, a prominent attorney and art collector, to house his growing collection of Italian Renaissance art. Over time, the museum has expanded its focus to include American art from the 19th century to the present, particularly works by artists from the East End of Long Island. The museum’s permanent collection includes pieces by artists such as William Merritt Chase, Fairfield Porter and Chuck Close. The Parrish hosts rotating exhibitions, educational programs, and public events to engage the community and promote art appreciation. It is especially known for its annual summer party, a major social event attended by art world leaders and trendsetters. Read more about Museums.
