SculptureCenter

The Sculpture Center is located at 44-19 Purves St, Queens, NY 11101 and was established in 1928. It is dedicated to contemporary sculpture, showcasing innovative and experimental works by emerging and established artists. The museum is housed in a former trolley repair shop, redesigned by architect Maya Lin. Notable exhibitions have included “Closed for Installation,” which explores site-specific works, and “In Practice,” an annual series that supports new work by emerging artists. The SculptureCenter also offers public programs, artist talks and educational workshops, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of contemporary sculpture. Read more about Museums.
