Studio Museum in Harlem

The Studio Museum in Harlem is located at 144 W 125th St, New York, NY. The museum was established in 1968 and is dedicated to showcasing the work of artists of African descent and exploring art inspired by Black culture. The museum’s collection includes over 2,000 pieces featuring works by notable artists such as Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence and Faith Ringgold. Notable exhibitions have included “Black Refractions” and “Fictions.” The Studio Museum also offers artist residencies educational programs and public events fostering a vibrant community engagement with contemporary art.
