Social Media Influencers Are Charged with Securities Fraud for Pump-and-Dump Stock Scheme

U.S. regulators charged seven social media influencers who presented themselves as successful stock traders on Twitter and Discord, and one who allegedly helped them. They allegedly profited from manipulating stock prices and earned more than $100 million collectively since January 2020.
